Possible Wheelers

Howdy from the Great State!

OK got 2 options for a wheeler.

Option #1 1990 XJ
Auto / 6cyl
D30/D35
4" Lift
33's
Price: FREE

Option #2 1946 CJ2
Stick / Flat Head 4 (Slight Knock)
unknown Axles but have a Free set of D30/D35 off a Commanche
No Lift but SOA is a possibility
31's should handle the D30/D35 set-up but would like to run 33's, can get a set pretty cheap
Price: $450.00

Questions: Can a flatty with 31's hang with a batch of boys running 33's?
Is the Flatty worth the stretch?

Ideas and suggestions needed. remember its as usual a budget build.

Adios,

Nic

Hmm , 33"s , 4.0, FI,auto, thats hard to beat and the price is right. Leave the lawn ornament in its place IMO.

Go with the XJ dude. Is that Gramps? You'll have a better chance in getting replacement parts for when you break them.

Yes Ardis its "Gramps".

D35 scares me in the rear, maybe I can find a D44 or an 8.8 for that issue.

Needs a brake job and has a squirrley lifter.

But boy wouldnt that Flatty look cool behind "Schweety"?

That's about the only place it would look good. The only real way to wheel a flattie is with bigger & wider axles and a complete powertrain swap.

Yeah I see your point. Plus I think FCSQL has an 8.8 lined up for me and not locking the front might help.
